Upcoming Live Shows

The Shaker Hymn released their new single ‘Dead Trees’ in September, recorded straight to tape by producer Brendan Fennessy. It’s a speedy follow up to last year’s full-length ‘Do You Think You’re Clever?’, released on the band’s own label Heavy Noids. The release of ‘Dead Trees’ comes after a busy year where the band toured extensively around Ireland with more recent dates in Belgium, while also appearing on the soundtrack to breakout Irish film ‘Handsome Devil’. The band sound energised on the new track with a full release on the way in 2018.

The Shaker Hymn are a five-piece alternative rock band from Cork, Ireland. Having known each other since childhood, the catalyst for what would become The Shaker Hymn was a two- month American excursion early in 2012. A remarkable road trip ensued, involving acoustic support slots to Chelsea Crowell (daughter of Rodney). It was on this trek that brand new, future-embracing songs were crafted; songs that would shortly enter the repertoire of the fledgling Shaker Hymn.

Following national and local airplay of their first two critically acclaimed singles, the band's debut album, Rascal's Antique, was released on 30th May 2014, on the band's own label, Heavy Noids Records.

In late 2015, the band released two new singles of raucous fuzz infused psych-pop to serve as a taster from their forthcoming album ‘Do You Think You’re Clever?’ (due April 1st 2016). With both tracks already garnering the band local and national radio play & plenty of media acclaim from press and blogs alike they were recently named as
"A band to watch out for" by Hot Press Magazine, an opinion further cemented when chosen to perform at Whelan's 'Ones To Watch 2016' Showcase Festival in January 2016.

It’s one of the coolest rock songs out of Ireland this year and it’s clear the band are really in the groove right now

Echoing the lazy drawls of ex Stroke’s frontman Julian Casablancas but with a swagger all their own, Shaker Hymn are a band to watch out for next year
— HOTPRESS
The kind of proud, unashamedly guitar-driven record debut that would once have been pounced on by an enlightened imprint such as Creation or Go! Discs

Sucking It Out’ is frenetic new track that builds to a kaleidoscopic indie-rock outro. Given the more stylised production and overall sense of sonic placement that permeates throughout ‘Sucking It Out’, things are looking well-set for the Shaker Hymn’s new album.
— THELASTMIXEDTAPE
while The Shaker Hymn evoke some of the best characteristics of 90s bands, this is an intently forward looking outfit, classic songwriting acumen with a 2016 edge. The deft hooks make the listener at once appreciate this is a serious band is at work.

It’s a polished effort, with classic rock echoes of everyone from John Lennon to Richard Ashcroft.
