Irish traditional music remains an important foundation for NOTIFY, particularly in the band’s approach to melody and composition. From there, the music is shaped collectively by the six musicians, with arrangements developing through the individual character and musical instincts each member brings to the group. Pádraig Rynne on concertina, Tara Breen on fiddle, Davie Ryan on drums and percussion, Adam Taylor on bass, Rory McCarthy on piano and Fender Rhodes, and Hugh Dillon on guitars make up the six piece ensemble.
Since emerging with their self titled debut in 2013, NOTIFY have built a reputation for adventurous composition, detailed arrangements and performances that move easily between intimacy and scale. Touring since 2014, the band have brought their music to audiences across Ireland and internationally, appearing at some of the most respected festivals across Europe and beyond. Their 2016 release reached No. 1 on the iTunes Jazz Charts, while the 2024 album Airnéan received widespread acclaim and was named The Irish Times' No. 1 Traditional Album of the Year. In 2025 the band released Worlds Collide, a large scale collaboration with the Irish Concertina Orchestra, Bill Whelan, Cormac McCarthy and the MGCE Concert Orchestra.
In 2026, NOTIFY return with For Now, a new studio album that continues the band's exploration of where contemporary Irish music can go when tradition, composition and improvisation are allowed to meet on equal terms. The album will be available for pre order from 18 September 2026, with the full release on 16 October 2026 across vinyl, CD and digital formats.
For Now also reflects the collaborative spirit that has become central to NOTIFY's work. Two time GRAMMY Award winner Rhiannon Giddens guests on Lowlands Low and Departure, bringing her unmistakable voice and musical perspective into the band's sound world. Critically acclaimed Galway songwriter Niamh Regan appears on Three Words, adding another distinctive voice to an album shaped by exchange, curiosity and a shared approach to making music.
Across their recordings and live work, NOTIFY have continued to connect musicians and traditions without smoothing away their individual character. Their music can be rhythmically intricate, atmospheric and powerful, but melody remains at its centre. For Now captures that balance at a moment when the band are looking both inward and outward, drawing on more than a decade of touring and making music together while opening new space for songs, voices and collaborations.
The live chapter of For Now will continue into 2027. NOTIFY will begin the year with a short Irish tour before returning to Europe, followed by performances in Seoul and Tokyo. The band will then travel to North America for a Canadian tour across June and July, extending a live journey that has been central to NOTIFY since 2014.
